7/19/2024 |  World Lacrosse Partners with Turning Stone Resort Casino (SportsTravel) Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, has joined the upcoming 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships as an official event partner and will host four games at the Mary C. Winder Community Center, the Oneida Indian Nation’s new 90,000-square-foot community center.
The September 20–29 world championship event will including 133 games played with 38 nationals teams. The Mary C. Winder Community Center will host games on September 24 between the Canada and Ireland women, the Netherlands and Haudenosaunee women, the Haudenosaunee versus England men and the USA and Canada men.

1/25/2024 |  World Lacrosse Chooses Korea and Japan for Championship Events (SportsTravel) World Lacrosse will have three upcoming world championships in the Far East with the 2025 Men’s U20 Championship officially awarded to South Korea and the 2026 Women’s Championship and 2027 Men’s Championship awarded to Japan.
“We are thrilled to award these championships to Korea and Japan, two of our model members that are both ready to stage world-class events in incredible cities,” said World Lacrosse Chief Executive Officer Jim Scherr. “With our upcoming women’s U20 championship, we will have four championships in four years in Asia, which reflects how the game has grown at a breathtaking speed. I am excited for our global community to experience firsthand why the region is a new epicenter of lacrosse.”
12/7/2023 |  White House Supports Indigenous Lacrosse Team for 2028 Olympics (SportsTravel) A push to allow the Haudenosaunee Nationals to compete as its own team in lacrosse at the 2028 Olympic Summer Games in Los Angeles received a major endorsement when President Joe Biden announced Wednesday at the White House Tribal Nations Summit a push to allow the Indigenous nation that invented lacrosse to play under its own flag when the sport returns to the Olympics.
